Conventional Cotton Tees - are really harmful to our environment. T-Shirts are one of the most consumed products in the world. This creates a perfect environment for environmental change - at least we think so! Organic cotton is a healthier choice!
Conventional cotton production use 10% of the world's pesticides and 25% of the world's insecticides. The production of cotton has an incredible impact globally. On top of that, It takes an incredible amount of water to grow conventional cotton, not to mention more water needed to dilute all those chemicals. When you really think about that, it makes a good amount of sense to support cleaner organic cotton production and encourage the use of alternative fibers. Going green on this (1) item could make an incredible difference to the water, soil and biodiversity of our planet. All products made with organic cotton can help offset the impacts of conventional cotton, buying organic products is a great way to make an impact! We like to keep it clean around here too, as a company we continue to research and learn about new methods in our industry for maintaining an active environmental action plan. Shipping is a 'recycled' adventure - we use CareMail envelopes and boxes, made of 95% recycled content, with recycled packing materials from our shop. Product labels are made of 100% post-consumer content and all marketing brochures etc. are made with 100% recycled content and soy inks, thanks to our local CA printer. We encourage our customers to offset the carbon footprint of shipping and other activities of life with the help of organizations like The Bonneville Environmental Foundation. |
